The school is an ongoing secondary school. CITRAL is the community-based organisation in Isingiro. Recovery capital is what they are creating on the ground — and what we capture here.

CITRAL
Community Initiative to Transform Lives. Health, nurseries, livelihoods, and a safe space in Nakivale. A CBO in Isingiro, not a school.
Recovery capital
Five domains. One community ledger.
Ubuntu and recovery capital sit at the centre of the architecture. In Uganda that is not a slide. It is nurseries, classrooms, wetlands, and a safe space in a settlement.

LiveTree nursery & seedling production
Isingiro Town Council
Over 200,000 seedlings raised. SPGS-certified nursery. Eucalyptus, grevillea, bamboo, fruit trees — restoration that also feeds household income.

Waste segregation, a management committee, and trained labourers recycling on the ground. Cleaner streets as community capital.

Lake Nakivale
Wetland restoration campaign aiming to restore 65 hectares around Lake Nakivale. Bamboo technology trained in China, practised in Isingiro.

Nakivale settlement

Isingiro District
Over 100 teenage mothers linked to skills development. District school regulations adjusted so a young mother can return. CITRAL and the school sit on the same work.
